AGAIN ABOUT MYOPIA...

Myopia is also known as short-sightedness which means patient has difficulty in focusing on distance objects. The image will appear blurred in retina. This is because the size of eyeball is longer than usual. I give you one example... let say I am focusing at the traffic light, the image of traffic light is focused in front of retina rather than on it. So, it makes me difficult in seeing distance object.

Other reason is due to cornea and crystalline lens themselves. Some patient has difficulty in adjusting distance object clearly because of the combination of corneal and crystalline lens which is too powerful that the eye could not cope with it. I will explain to you in other entry what and how is our eyes supposed to be in normal.

MYOPIA CONTROL LENS

What is myopia control lenses? Myopia control lenses work to slow the progression of myopia in children. It works by reducing the accomodative strain on the eye muscle for near task.

Myopia control lenses are design exactly similar to progressive lenses. One company which provide myopia control lenses in Malaysia is SOLA. It has been designed with wider distance and near viewing zones and in shorter corridor which is small frame. This is to minimise the effort of eye muscle to focus on near task. This can reduce the accomodative strain on eye muscle and progression of myopia in children.

Recommended

Children age 6 years and above are recommended to wear myopia control lenses.

TRANSITION PERIOD

Finally, I step out from my cloudy day. Huh! It was almost 4 months being a coach potato. Now, I am back with new idea and new spirit. This brand new me makes me happy. I cannot wait to share all my happiness, my knowledge and my experience with others.
